Photography by Kurt Powers

Space Division Photography

Opening Reception: Friday, June 7th, 6:00-8:00 pm

June 2–July 21, 2013

Kurt Powers is the creator and owner of Space Division Photography, a Washington, DC-based photography studio. Kurt captures unusual and beautiful perspectives of the world around us. He is inspired by minimalism, geometry, and patterns he finds in both natural and industrial environments. This exhibition, entitled "Patterns," includes images from Kurt's travels to Yellowstone National Park and Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park in Key West. The Yellowstone series' bright colors and bold shapes contrast sharply with the dark and haunting images from Fort Zachary Taylor Park.

Kurt has worked with several local businesses in the Washington, DC, area, including shooting fashion photography for the Nana clothing blog and capturing images for Parlour Salon's website.
